WeDoSomething Mtl was approached by Budge Studios to help them find a worthy cause to donate $5,000.00. Given that they make award-winning educational apps for children, we selected a charity that uses educational apps to help children who are at risk of dropping out of school: Je Passe Partout supports the education of 500+ children in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, where the school dropout rate is over 40%. They do so in part by tutoring kids who are struggling using iPads and apps. A perfect match, and a perfect FUNraiser for the Budge team and the Je Passe Partout community!
Thanks to ticket sales and their donation, we raised $5861.86, which allowed Je Passe Partout à to buy 8 additional iPads used to tutor the most troubled children at home, after school. And the treats we baked were enjoyed by the children in the Je Passe Partout program at their holiday parties! Sweet, huh?
